6 Month Contract to Hire
Location - Chicago, IL (hybrid - 3 days a week onsite)
Our client is looking to add a Senior System/Endpoint Engineer to join our Endpoint Engineering team. As a member of the Endpoint Engineering Team, the Endpoint Engineer provides daily support and maintenance of the endpoint hardware, operating systems, applications, and associated infrastructure software. This role includes solving critical business incidents and collaborating with Traders, Service Desk personnel, and other support staff. A strong customer focus, proactive demeanor, ownership attitude, and sense of urgency are critical.
This position will consist of 70% Project work vs. 30% Maintenance
- Coordinate the design and implementation of endpoint system infrastructures, applications, and related products, with a focus on systems planning, security principles, and software management standard methodologies.
- Adopt a data driven approach to analyzing and resolving complex challenges.
- Apply an engineering approach and automation to enhance service delivery and boost user happiness.
- Solve software-related issues, particularly in high-speed, fast paced trading environments.
- Research new technologies and solutions to optimize workflows.
- Participate in strategic and tactical meetings as needed and develop and implement solutions in collaboration with the team.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with the team for off-hours support.
Required / Technical Background:
- Windows Server: DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and File Services
- Linux administration a plus
- Some exposure to Networking
- PowerShell scripting (Python nice to have)
- MS 365: Intune, Office 365, Autopilot
- Citrix VDI
- SCCM (for imaging)
- Altiris (nice to have)
- Slack (used for assigning tickets)
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, RedHat, and CCNA are advantageous.
